Easter - The answers!

ok, I am an open-mind believer... which means that I believe God exist, but I love to know where things and traditions come from.

Back in Spain, 2 years ago, I celebrated Easter like always. Church, Palms, kind of Christian Parades... We call it Holy-Week (or Pasqua) and we "celebrate" (let's say, better, remember) how Jesus was betrayed, get cut and killed in a cross... and how after 3 days came from death, to go to heaven (or something like that)
In my opinion, a really cool ending for the most famous book in history. (if you are reading it, sorry to spoil the end...)

anyway, now that I am in Germany, it's going to be the third time that I will celebrate Easter in another way... with eggs, bunnies, and chocolate!

the awesome thing about that, is that when I asked for the first time to a German friend...

-eggs and bunnies? from where does it come from?

he answer me:

-mmmh I don't know! Is like this since I was little...

WHAAAAAAAAT!!??!?!
ok, so, I did some research and this is what I found; for all of you who are curious about this holydays...
(actually, is really cool staff!)

Bunnies are a symbol of fertility, because they have soooo many "little bunnies" when they "fornikate". So, the thing is that Germans brought this animal to America like hundreds years ago, and the people there liked them very much.
Kids starts playing with them, and build for them kind of houses, but for birds (as it's called Nests), I don't really understand why, truth be told. Maybe because was cute, or maybe because they thought bunnies were actually birds... the thing is that they start hiding eggs under them, and then were the parents, and afterwards, there was no bunny at all, only the eggs and the people who were putting the eggs, and at the end looks like a magical gigantic bunny is putting the eggs in the magical Nests!!!!!

(guat da fack?)

Nevertheless, if you have ever asked why people paint eggs for Easter, has a very "colourful" explanation (yeah, right, that was a joke!)
Happened that people were forbidden to eat eggs until the day of Easter (holy Sunday, I think). So, what did they do with the eggs? they did what every and each of us would do (...) Paint them!
I mean, come on, you should understand them, I suppose they were bored, without TV, Facebook, Blogs to read...

Although, I think I have a theory that people were painting them to eat them.
I will explain:
If you have piece of paper, it's a piece of paper, but if you paint something nice, then is art, or a picture or whatever you want less a piece of paper...
the same happens with the egg!
If you have an egg, it's an egg. but if you paint it, it gets transform to art, picture, sculpture or whatever you want less an egg!
They were forbidden for the church to eat eggs, but nobody says anything about art!!!! right?

Well... who knows!

Whatever is that you celebrate, for me Easter means the return of the good and long days, and 4 days of holydays! (yey!!!) and since some years ago... gooooooood parties!

So! I wish you happy Easter, and thanks for reading!!!!
